Hailing from Ukraine, Alexander has had an illustrious career as the official makeup artist for Avon Cosmetics and Smashbox in Ukraine, as well as a makeup trainer for MAC Cosmetics in Kazakhstan. With a hit YouTube show amassing over 9 million views and a top 5 ranking among makeup artists in Ukraine at the 2020 Stella International Awards, Alexander's expertise is inspirational. In addition to his remarkable achievements, Alexander has conducted numerous masterclasses for makeup artists worldwide and authored over 30 articles on professional beauty subjects.

InizioDC: What is the most important thing you want people to know about you, your artistry and passion?

AK: Makeup holds a special place in my heart as it ignites my passion like nothing else. Witnessing the sheer delight and self-assuredness in my clients' eyes brings me unparalleled joy. For me, makeup is more than just a tool of transformation—it is an art form that allows individuals to express themselves authentically.

InizioDC: What inspires you about your work today?

AK: I find inspiration in the beauty around me, whether it's art, music, theaters, museums, old fashion magazines, or simply the people I encounter. These elements ignite my creativity and drive me to create meaningful experiences.

InizioDC: What are your favorite cosmetic products for personal use?

AK: I have a true passion for exploring the world of cosmetics and continuously searching for the finest products to offer my clients. While there are countless options that I adore, I do have a top 5 list of personal favorites. These include the MAC Pro Longwear Fluidline Eye Liner in Blacktrack, the mesmerizing Colorfix pigments of Danessa Myricks, MAC Face and Body foundation, the impeccable primers from Smashbox, and the long-lasting effect achieved with Kryolan Fixing Spray. These products have consistently delivered exceptional results and have become indispensable tools in my makeup kit.

InizioDC: What got you into teaching masterclasses?

AK: I have a genuine passion for learning, which has been the driving force behind my continuous professional growth over the past 15 years. Naturally, this journey led me to the fulfilling path of teaching. Around seven years ago, I was given a remarkable opportunity to work in Kazakhstan, where I spent a year training over 30 makeup artists in the esteemed service standards of MAS Cosmetics. This experience was truly one-of-a-kind and immensely rewarding. Since then, I have frequently conducted makeup masterclasses, sharing my knowledge and skills with others who aspire to excel in the field.

InizioDC: Tell us about one makeup, look that you created that you love so much it sticks with you to this day?

AK: One of the most enjoyable experiences I've had is participating in a look-like contest where I transformed myself into Johnny Depp. It took me approximately four hours to create the look, but the end result was absolutely worth it.
